2010年秋季班東海大學社會學系碩博士選修課
課名：當代中國社會生活研究

授課主旨
中國進行改革開放已逾三十年，在建立「具有中國特色的社會主義國家」的過程裡，常民的生活模式、社會關係、自我理解以及慾望呈現已然歷經巨大的變化。經濟結構與社會政策固然是形構這些變化的關鍵機制，然而社會與文化生活的複雜樣貌、和個人與社群能動性的展現（與限制），往往難以化約性地歸諸於政治或經濟結構的詮釋框架。本課將採跨學科的視角，藉由閱讀當代國際學界多領域（社會學、歷史、政治、人類學、地理、文學批評）知名學者的研究論文，以期對上述議題做出較全面和深入的理解。
授課方式和要求
每週的必讀教材多為兩篇期刊論文或專書章節。上課方式為修課同學輪流報告，報告者須隨堂繳交報告大綱，並分發給教師和所有同學，報告後，授課教師再以提問的方式帶動討論。報告大綱的寫作型態最好為critical review，可參閱《台灣社會學》及《台灣社會學刊》等學術期刊「書評」的寫作方式。
期末報告內容可為：一，針對某課程中討論過的議題進行理論回顧和批判性分析；二，引用課程教材，對某當代社會現象或事件寫作調查報告。寫作格式（包括引用文獻）須符合《台灣社會學刊》的撰稿體例，篇幅為10頁、新細明體、字體12、1.5倍行高，電子檔的繳交期限為下學期開學第一週。
學期成績的評分方式為：隨堂報告（60%）＋期末報告（40%）。
