Abstract:If “airing grievances ”helpsshape the farmers ‘affection for New China and “getting emotional ” helps bringout the farmers’ enthusiasm to participate in revolution, then the practice of “reflection” is an important way ofestablishing the rural cadres‘ administrative consciousness, remolding their narrow way of thinking and behavior ,and reinforcing their loyalty to the state and the public. Throughreflections, the cadres try to find out abouttheir shortcomings and correct them. Through self-criticism and mutualcriticism, they have a better understandingof what is good for the country and the people, and what is in violation of state policies and the interest of thevillage. Through "confession",they accept supervision by the state and the masses ,and learn how to de-escalate conflicts and confrontations andbring the will of the state and the interest of the farmers into a harmoniousunion.
